Hi, I’m Alice. Learn more about me here.
After a long time of debating, I decided to go back to my roots (ie. writing indiscernible thoughts on an instant message platform away message, iykyk) because I think we are all craving authentic connection that cannot completely be met with a 15 second video reel. I’ve attempted to start some form of written word since Asian Avenue, but never found the right topics. So you have no idea how grateful I am for the subscription.
Don’t get me wrong, I love creating and sharing videos of our daily routines. However, while authentic, I don’t get to answer the questions you have about “how do you do it all” as a corporate mother in a 2500 character limit caption (nor do you want to read it there). Naive as it may be, I think this is a good place to start. Spoiler alert: I don’t “do it all”. But that’s what we’re here to talk about.
I’m so glad you’re here. I plan to share snippets of what has come up for me in the last year while trying to analyze my career path and trajectory with where I am as a mother. My children are young, but out of the baby stage, and there is such a delicate balance in weighing where I see my career path and how present I want to be for my children. I’m excited and inspired by the stories I’ve received from you. I want to answer each comment and questions you’ve directed to me, and I hope that I’m able to dive deeper into it all here.
What does this have to do with Bubble Tea? What’s not to like about a culture of ‘treating yourself’?
Bubble tea is a sweet drink of Taiwanese origin that in its basic form consists of tea mixed typically with milk or fruit syrup and small balls of tapioca. For me, it is something light (hearted) to enjoy, not too sweet (also like me), and can lift your spirits (just me?). I hope that’s what you’ll find here - a light treat to your daily grind.
What else can I look forward to here? Other things that I plan on taking from my videos to recap here: monthly library book hauls, review on new Costco items a typical busy parent might like using or incorporating into their daily lives, new kids book series we’re loving, and weekly outfit posts. All summaries will be in a more searchable format with links so you don’t have to screenshot my videos. I know we don’t have time for that. If there’s other things you’d like to dive into, I hope to touch on that too.
Paid subscribers will have weekly comment lists for Q&A, and customized more direct responses to those questions. I’m still working on content that makes sense for that level of subscriptions, and I won’t turn it on until it’s ready.
Thank you for following along, and I appreciate your time here. If you haven’t already, I’d love if you’d hit subscribe.
